    Hi guys.

Had a chat to management and some members.
Thought to see if there is any interest in a gathering.

The shop n1 city petworld would be the venue and supply some snaks. All bring there own drinks ect. This would only be possible on a Sunday after closing so at 3.

please suggest dates that would suit all.

Normal trading of all and any plants, fish and crustaceans welcome.

Please give your opinions and ideas around this topic.

From my understanding you previously had to rent a venue? So free venue. Just a idea. Thanks guys.

    Nice idea!

Just one thing, though. The owners have to be ready for comments from us APSA members. They might hear a bit of "this plant isn't aquatic" and "this fish is in too small a tank" etc.

The venue we had last time was great. A little out of way, but pretty decent and it had a braai. And a bar. ^_^

It is an awesome idea.. We did such things in the UK, we would meet in a shop and have a chat with the owners as to what we would like to buy.

This can be beneficial for the shop and us.. :)

    Do you have shrimp?

What/Where was the old venue? Dop en tjop sounds ideal. I'm a very very shy person around people I haven't met before.

Theo Marias sports club in Koeberg Road, Milnerton. Down the road from the Chevron Refinery. We all chipped in about R20 as Dirk had organised and paid for it. I believe we had enough to cover the costs. The evening was super informative! @Dirk B is a walking bible on plants, and of course there are other interesting people to see and meet.

Don't worry you're not alone. I do not enjoy meeting new people. I went to the last meet and greet we had and I survived to tell the tale :)

LOL you survived :D Yeah Theo Marais Park is a fantastic place... used to go there for the Noddy parties as a little girl and later for the dog shows. My husband has been lucky enough to meet Prof Dirk B, and I would like the same opportunity :D

Yeah don't worry, I'm not exactly a social butterfly nor a very good communicator in real life either.

That's probably why we keep fish and plants. Nature understands :)

I think 95% of people do. They just don't say anything because it's very much a gray area still.

I like the braai idea, but with one braai it will take too long too feed everyone.
And we'd have to start REALLY early this time to make sure everything gets braai-ed in time.

To braai or not to braai? That is the question. Hanekka has a good point, although that can be overcome by just doing a boerie braai. It's the mixture of different meat which always takes so long.
Another point: If we braai we won't be able to swop more than just plants as the livestock will need to get home asap.

Another thing worth mentioning: @Dirk B gave a really nice mini-speech last time, giving great explanations on the plants he brought along. I vote for an encore!
