Anyone got some Spirodela Polyrrhiza (Duckweed) for me

Hi Guys

Anyone in Cape town or surrounds know where I can get me some of this prolific grower, I hear that its filtration properties are great and that some fish eat them as well?

My 4ft seems to be growing it quite prolificly. It only seems to grow amongst the floating Foxtail though which is strange to me
I'll keep you in mind if I end up with way too much

 

Thanks Firefly, if its only growing among other plants you may find that there is too much surface disturbance which the Duckweed apparently dislikes and doesnt multiply as prolifically.

 

I have tons of it but I'm in JHB.

 

Duckweed will grow in a toilet busy flushing...stuff is insane...lol

You're right that some fish like to eat it. The goldfish in our pond goes nuts for it. Gobbles it up faster than it can grow.
