    Hello

I am a new Hobby breeder , trying my hand at guppies. I am busy setting up as many tanks as possible. However--- Trying to set up tanks with thermostats, lids, ligting and electric filters become extremely expensive if you need to buy everything from your locla petshops ( in Bloemfontein)

Anybody perhaps know about warehouses or people selling new hardware for fishtanks that will work out a bit cheaper?

    Regards
    Len

    Hi Len,

Would it not be better to do 1 big sump as a filter and then you would not need so many heaters and filters.

If that is not an option, I have used Carel before and his prices are good.

@JP01, the problem with doing one big sump, is that is one fish gets sick you gonna loose everything, yes it will save you on the initial setup, but it could cost you more in the long run.

Yea, sponge filters will be your cheapest low maintenance option:) they also good for fry since they don't have a inlet pipe to suck them in!

Get a big aquarium compressor, splitters, some sponge filters and you should be ready to go!(on the filter side)

    Thanks Guys!

I decided to go for the compressor with sponge filters as suggested. Works like a dream
