    Hi guys,

I'm setting up my tank with aquasoil tomorrow. Would it be a good idea to rinse it in a fine strainer before or should I just use it without rinsing and wet it with spray bottle. My logic is that a rinse would wash off excess nutrients and dust?

Before you fill your tank plant your plants and then lay down some cling wrap and wet newspaper, then fill gently and the cling wrap and newspaper wiill deflect the water from disrunpting your plants and substrate and will float up slowly as the water level rises.

Pray it before you plant the carpet.
You can add more water to plant the stems.

What worked for me is I added a bit of water to wet the aquasoil, just makes the planting so much easier!

If you do not have a long pinset / tweezer get one it works nicely for planting stems and delicate / fine plants, also push the stems in nice and deep so that they do not float when you start filling.

My breeding shoal of albinos and pandas were evicted from my big tank some time back and are still in solitary confinement waiting to find a nice home ?
