Hi Guys, As part of our ongoing drive to improve APSA, we have implemented a tagging/mention feature that was requested. There is a new textbox when you are replying or creating a new post labelled "TAG somebody:" this allows you to put the members names in, you can put multiple names in separated with a comma. If you have mentioned somebody in your post and you would like to let them know, just TAG them. It is very similar to the @Username feature on Vbulletin. You can seel below, I am tagging Ryan and Richard (shihr), it uses the same autocomplete functionality as the rest of the board so you just have to type the first few letters of the username and it will suggest the members starting with those letters. If you have been tagged you should see a highlighted TAG count next to your name when you are on APSA, see below: You can also click on your profile, then show posts, then tags to show all the posts you have been tagged in. Let us know if you have any questions, or comments please post them here.. Enjoy!
Howzit dude, Certainly liking the drive to improve. The extra recent posts and now this tagging feature make us over at Cichlid-Forum.co.za jealous. You might have noticed we also use the SMF forum software. Mind if I ask how you got this going so we can do the same? Thanks, enjoy! Jack
hi jack, it is a mod we purchased.. http://www.monotiz.com/smf/http://www.apsa.co.za/phpbb/viewtopic.php?p=6#p6
@Wearsbunnyslippers - I don't actually have the drop down box to TAG people in my browser when I hit the reply button... Weird
ive been getting alot of emails from notifications@APSA.co.za witch are blank... does this have something to do with the tagging/mentions?
The dropdown box only shows after you have typed someone's name, it starts showing partial matches for those names.
No, I don't get the drop down box at all. I tried that when I typed the wearsbunnyslippers into the body of the message and nix.
