WHAT A WEEKEND!! Short clip of one of my Apistogramma Trifasciata females with her free swimming fry. (The other breeding female also took her fry out for the first time...on the exact same day...)
Small little video that can be found on my youtube channel of these beautiful fish. If you haven't seen them in real life...you are MISSING OUT BIG TIME!! Pictures dont do these fish justice...
Male and one of his females: Side shot of the male: Duller than male female (but at least nice breeding yellow):
@Deadpool, just for interest, do u breed these in RO water or normal tap water? Was thinking of going RO and getting some of these when they hit the shop but I'm not sure if it's worth spending so much money on RO if they would be okay in tap water? Sent from my SM-T531 using Tapatalk
@hencoloots ... depends what you want to do with them. If it's only for display purposes...tapwater is fine (my display tanks are all 100% tank water...you saw them) Also...if it's just for display, get a few males. They not as aggressive as other apistos...and if there's no females in the tank, they wont do more than flare at each other in passing by (look at my youtube video). I'd say you'd need 50L per male...so if you have a 3ft, two males with their own territories and a bunch of other small fish...winning recipe!!
