Tropical aquarium for sale: Tank: 1320 x 470 x 510 mm, 10mm low iron glass (not regular float glass) with black silicone edges. 260 litres. Built by Graham Pead of Gapedi Tanks. He does top class work. He also built the sump. http://gapeditanks.com/ Stand: Mild steel square tubing designed properly by me (mechanical engineer, hell I even did a finite element analysis on it, total overkill), and welded up by me. Cabinet: solid blackwood (local Knysna wood). All my own work. The cabinet is three sided and once the plumbing is off it slides forwards off the steel stand. So only the stand carries the weight of the aquarium. Hood: Also blackwood, cantilevered from a frame off the stand. All wood has been varnished. The hood has 6 coats and the inside is further coated in a few layers of Velvaglo. Lighting: 54 Watt T5 tubes >> 1 x Grolux, and 2 x Radium 8800K, on for 6 hours a day. There is an Alanod reflector inside. Timers included. Heating: SICCE Scuba 300 Watt heater. Filtration: Sump, 6mm low iron glass by pure chance as the price was the same as normal float glass. (60-70 litres) - Bean Animal overflow box - SICCE Syncra 2.5 return pump through a Do!Aqua Violet glass outflow VP3. Substrate: Flourite Dark and Flourite Red. Brand new. Installed just over a month ago when I moved. Have the invoice of R 3,618.50 for it. I had ADA Aquasoil in previously. CO2: 2 x 5 kg CO2 bottle with solenoid/gauge/needle valve/bubble counter and an inline reactor. I also have the more expensive handwheels installed on the bottles so they never leak. Bottles from Nova Marine and refilled there. About R130 for 5 kg. Lasts about 5 months. One bottle is kept as a spare. Flora: Rotala colorata, Staurogyne repens, Ludwigia repens, Rotala sp 'green', Ludwigia sp. 'Rubin', amazon sword, christmas moss and java fern and some odds and ends. Fauna: 2 x Cardinal tetra, 10 x Harlequin rasbora, 11 x Bronze corydoras, 5x Galaxy rasbora, 6 x sterbai corries and a single clown plec (an L-series) and plenty of shrimp. Will also throw in a Twinstar Nano and a Jebao WP-10 wave maker. Selling all together. However if you do not want any of the inhabitants I may have a seperate buyer for them. Otherwise I will not sell anything separate. The tank won Tank of the Month on APSA for April 2016 and October 2015. It is not looking amazing now but it grows well and will easily get there again with minimal effort. Have recently moved from my flat but the tank has been running for just over 3 years now in total. Have lost some interest in it and also just selling many things to simplify life a bit. Serious buyers only. Contact Adrian. Located in Milnerton, Cape Town. R18 000 for everything. Whatsapp works. zero eight two 656 zero two five two.
Maybe so...but who's got 20k to drop on that tank? Chances are you'll prolly have to split up to sell half of it...good luck tho
That was the original intention. I designed it for a marine tank but wanted to start off planted until I moved into my house. Now I have moved but the desire is no longer there at all. Tanks are unfortunately expensive to start up. This cost me almost R40 000. And for sure I won't get my asking price, I know that already. Such is life
I'm getting my small gapedi for R500, half the volume but a load less fancy. This is a dream tank! Glws
I can see! Being young he said he'd help me build the tank in person and show me how to do it. So 500 bucks for a 125l tank, still need to get material for an internal sump too then build myself a canopy If I had the space and money would take in a heartbeat
