    Hi

Pls help me to identify this fish?

It was suppose to be a Apistogramma Cacatuoide, but I am quite sure it is not.

I have two and as always got them just be fore holiday, when i got back they have eaten they way trough all my 40 small fish. PS. They were much smaller when I left.

Beautiful fish, lost of character, does not chase the other fish, just eat everything that can fit into their moths.

len, im truely sorry about that, petmasters sold them to us under the wrong name, and i couldnt get hold of you.. i got rig of mine a while ago..
they are Cichlasoma salvini's and yours is showing breeding colors there...
they grow to a lenght of 15cm and they come from southern mexico, guatemala and honduras. they are extremely agressive towards other fishes...
if you want to keep them put the two of them in a 4 foot by themselves, or see what a petshop is willing to give you for them
again sorry, they were sold to us under the wrong name and were too small to positively id otherwise when we got them

they are stunning fish, i had mine ID's by Henk Hugo originally when i posted a while back with my pair in the pic
i took them to the shop in randridge mall, but they made them die within two weeks for no reason, wich is the last time i supported them by buying something from them...
if you want to accomodate them temporarily you can come fetch a 3foot tank from me to house them seperate from your fish untill you find a taker for them?
what did they manage to eat up in your tank? i found a few guppies going missing before i took them to the shop...

    regards
    j.p.

Hi, no problem, made the same mistake on IDing them.

Do you know any petshop that will take them?

    Any takers out there?

Literally everything, I was away for six weeks. All my cardinals, rummy noses, flame tetras, penguins and panda corries. Around 40 fish! I had one surviving penguin when i got back, but it has now disappeared as well.

Funny enough my Bumblebees survived untouched (tuf little buggers) and the other dwarf cichlids are fine with them, the Bolivians actually chase them around, Discusses are non bothered.

They eat however so much (and are always first) that I am worried about everything getting enough. Am am seeing all my shy bottom feeders coming out at night when I feed now.

Sunday's cool. The tank is fine, only temporary.

Operating under a new tank moratorium. :nono Already got the 600l, a 30 l salt water pico, a 20l SW refugium and a 20 l with baby sailfin mollies. Now building a 150l and 500l salt water tank with a 200l refugium.

Getting another one may be met with some opposition.
