They are amazing little fish. I am adding another 20 or 30 to my tank later on this month. The green on my fish only started to come out over the last week or so. and it is very subtle

forgot to add.... if you want to condition them after they have been starved by the shop you should feed them the OmegaOne First flake. Its got a 44% protien load and a 14% fat. With added omega3 and 6 as well.

    Hi

Plants are doing much better, still algae, but getting growth from most of them. The swords is begging to look impressive and Henk’s cuttings is taking off.

One big problem, planted a lot of Limnophila aquatica (Giant Ambulia South-East Asia), but they keep on popping out of the substrate. They are forming roots, but not staying put.

Hank has scared me about using lead, so how do I keep them down?

Also have a problem with some of the small swords.

Here is a pick of the plants.

Here is my tank post the big planting (thanks Henk). As well as after the big algea remove.

I have also taken the backgropund down (by accident) but actually like the white backdrop?

    There is hope

It's already looking a whole lot better, Len.

Now you just got to wait for the plants to grow and you'll have a jungle in there.

Having to prune weekly (the pix is after a heavy pruning) I now have plants available if anyone needs. 95% of the plants is still from Henk's tank!

I will start trying some other plants now, still have ambitions to actually get a bottom cover to grow and a red plant one day.

Also, the four strands of moss has started to grow (in 28/29 degrees) and i am thinking of introducing some more moss.

Made some big changes in terms of fertilisation after the previous post (viva Seachem) and phosphate control, will do a post on what I used. The best advise I however got was to plant more plants, doing it slowly is not good.

Still struggling somewhat with slime and green hair algae, going to use some saltwater techniques I have learned about to see if it will help.

I also now pump air into the tank between 12am and 7am, 15min every 1 1/2h hours as the oxygen levels drops dangerously low and I have lost a few fish until I put this on a timer. Seem to work well, just eats a lot of CO2. (PS planning to upgrade my CO2 system , need more for the saltwater tanks as well, so the disposable unit (not the pH controller) will become available, will do a post when is does).

I love your setup - your plants look awesome.

What plant is that with the large, broad leaves? As well as the short, tufty grass like plants in front of it?

Got both from Henk in Cpt.

The large one is a amazone sword, specie unknown, can anyone help?

The grasses I think Henk said is ecanadorus buliviences, they are not doing to well, think it is the high temperature.

They are not doing great, seems to stay yellow/brown. I will look from some daughters as I don't think they will grow from a clipping, alternatively I can give you one of them, when you get them to grow properly, you can give me some more plants back?

Alternatively, Henk PostNet them to me, worked like a charm.
