No idea what watcilie is but I guess the bocappa is Bacopa caroliniana. What you see there are the lovely emersed leaves. These will die but the new leaves will soon come out. It is a better background plant than foreground so prepare to move it. Hair grass can be picky about the substrate... Best invest in some more crypts for the fore ground or get some HM and trim it pretty tight to the substrate. If well trained it looks very good.

Hydrocotyle leucopetala Cham. et Schlecht. I have included the authors who described the plant as well! This is the real name - there is no such thing as H. "leucocephala".

Hydrocotyle leucocephala CHAMISSO & SCHLECTHTENDAHL, 1826

this site has them listed as separate plants...

cephala = Hydrocotyle white petals (Fra)

petala = Hydrocotyle yellow petals (Fra)

    weird hey?

Ah... No CO2, no grow... And they needs LOADs of light as well which means even more CO2... Your 270 W/m2 may do it but unless you get the CO2 up they will keep melting. I gave up. My little DIY yeast bottle couldn't meat their needs.

    Re: wolf's dairies

Very strange indeed! I have checked out a genus list and on-line some aquarium lists purport leucopetala to be a synonym of leucocephala which is strange as the authority I am using clearly staes the first name (which takes preference) to be leucopetala. Hmmmm two names for the same thing! Oh well as long as hobbyists understand that they are acquiring two separate entities but rather just synonyms of each other. Thanks WBS - well-researched!

    Re: wolf's dairies

my wallichii is going strong all those stems comes from one stem i had
is it not that with CO2 the leafs grow longer
and my Bacopa is like that in all my tanks and was planted there to hide the filter siting in the corner

@ tyronegenade if same one can sponsor me the HM i will give it a try but first need to get my CO2 in
    thanks for all the comments

    Re: wolf's dairies

I am very envious for your wallichii success. I would like to try again... I could spare some HM in a few weeks. I need to get rid of my hair algae first---a new form of biological control is about to be tested. :)
