Hi All - Was hoping someone can point me in the right direction.

Im looking for some nice slate or a similar flat type of rock which is suitable for an aquarium... want to make use of some hardscape in the new tank and for this reason i have been searching high and low for a nice stackable type of rock... ive seen people create nice effects with slate in particular, but dont have a clue where to go ( In Joburg region ) to buy....

Would ideally like to go to a stone yard or something similar where firstly you can choose exactly which pieces you want, and secondly where there is a fair amount available...

I know you can get the neat cut flag / stepping stone slate from nurseries etc - Is this a viable option ? Think i would prefer the look of a natural / uneven stone though ?

Any guidance as to where i could look for decent slate etc would really be great...

    Thanks !

    ;)

builders warehouse sells slate tiles, you could break them up and use the pieces, they might be a bit sharp though...
