In my search for lighting, I came across T4's. Does anyone have a clue about T4's? Is it better than a T5? I really get confused with all the choices.
Hi Richard The T number indicates the size of the tube in eights of an inch. T8 = 1inch tubes T5 = 5/8 inch tubes etc. I have never heard of T4 tubes and if they will be any better than T5's. Thanks for the heads up
I have T4 in one of my tanks. Spec as follows T4 PL Power - 28w Voltage - 220 to 230 Frequency - 220 to 230 I have four tubes in it; 2 white & 2 blue. It is quite bright and makes a huge difference in my tank as far as plant development is concerned and enhancing fish colour. It is an all-in-one (ballast, holder, reflector, tubes) Cheers Dale
Price = Dunno as I paid R 150 for this unit I have (Got it from Kyle) Will check tonight for Kelvin rating...got it as it, no box no nothing, so I got the info I posted directly off the unit. @icarus - Will confirm later when I'm home @turando - The tubes of T4 are thinner than T5 and looks much nicer. On the actual spec between the two, I think we'll have to use our old friend google
@icarus - Correction, frequency is 50/60Hz. I made a type-o. @ rattail - No Kelvin reading on the ballast at all. I think this is what I have: http://www.ewtc.cn/products/t4-fluoresc ... 3-6903.htm
