It was Dirk who organized and it was a squash club along Koeberg Rd
I guess a coffee shop or squash club could work . It would have been nice to see some fish and plants when / where we meet though
This Dirk character you speak of certainly seems multi talented giving lectures and playing squash at the same time !
...and in his spare time he lectures a few students at Stellies and wines and dines some foreigners ha ha ha
yes just been entertaining European potato virologists with a lecture or two in Ljubjana, Slovenia. Last meeting was held in Milnerton squash club. I can give a lecture yes. Whatdaja wanta know? I am going to Germany from here shortly, because Trevor always pays me lucratively to bring back contraband from there. Will be back on 10 June but only under one condition, guess?
Kind regards, Dirk
BTW, I can organize the squash club....
@Dirk B - Maybe you could explain a bit about ferts and why we dose specific elements in specific ratios and dosages, ppm and target CO2 etc. I'd be interested to know more about why I do what I do daily to my tanks
Choose a topic and let us know. Then we can ask "anonymous " questions that you could answer in your talk?
I have questions!
Morning Guys from Germany,
At the last swop and meet, which was also a swop and meat, BTW, because the place has a braai.... I did speak about plant ferts and ratios of different components, requirements, what you need to dose etc etc. I could repeat that with the greatest of pleasure, perhaps expand a little about substrates this time, whatever. I can bring my computer and data projector. Everyone can bring their plants which they may want to exchange and items that they no longer want and wish to trade. I normally hire the facility myself and then folks can chip into a hat, I hate endless collection of fees so that is the easiest and worked perfectly last time.
We should aim for a date because this is where it gets difficult. Remember we have school holidays coming up soon so many folks go on holidays, maybe we should aim for after the winter holidays towards the end of July? In order to decide this, I also first have to inquire to the squash club about which dates the facility is available, but they have club meetings every Saturday so we have to hold it on a Friday. They also have a small bar and one can buy drinks and cooldrinks if you do not want to bring your own.
I either missed that chat or wasn't paying attention. Probably the latter
No, I think you were not there for our second meeting. You came to the previous one.
Ok...so I'm not as forgetful as I thought
Maybe one of the mods can help with this one , How can we get some of the newer members ( like myself) aware of this meet , I was an active member on the forum but missed the meet (or meat) cus I didn't see the notices . perhaps a gentle plug on the forum somewhere . I struggled to navigate the site at the beginning so I would assume that people with a similarly flat head as mine would too .
Is it possible to send a (not quite) spammy invite to the inboxes of all APSA members living in CT?
So uncle @Dirk B , could I ask that you then enquire when the squash court (and yourself) is available to us . Then we take it from there ...
I have just got back from 10 days overseas and first need to find my bearings and then I will inquire about the availability of the squash court, but we also need to aim for an approximate date, and I suggested after the winter school holidays. I won't be available much before then, tbh. So I think I will inquire about after the hols and we can take it from there. Give me a few days.....
Just for your info about this notification not being visible for long, there are ways and means for doing this and we can speak to shihr, but let us first discuss this a little.
Thanks @Dirk B . Holding my breath >>>
