No updates on peoples gym-routines, what they have for lunch, 15 your old cousins duckface selfies or lame inspirational suppose-to-be jokes.

    It's even better than vleisbroek!

Yeah never understood the full point of facebook or the like..spluttering our trivia to the world.. I really don't need to know where Joe Blogs had tea yesterday, that Jane's cat passed away and that some lucky bastard is sailing the Caribbean with pics of turquoise seas just to rub it all in and while I'm bordered at home doing water changes ;D :BangHead:

Sorry, just being a cynical old bastard..

On the other hand, it is good for sharing photos of your holidays that ALL your relatives and friends keep asking for. Post it once and everyone is happy. And it works good as a chat system, seeing as most people use it for other stuff anyway.

And... you could just block all the "unnecessary" crap.
Too bad my mother started using FB a lot lately, and she's in the "inspirational quotes that are merely copy-pasted a million times" and the "like and share or you'll go to hell" phase. T_T

I use facebook a lot, and if used with care is pretty useful.

Groups, pages, friends, and must faster than the forum, things can be shared, lessons learned, and what is done shown, to thousands. I also use twitter, flickr and pinterest, with so many interests, one can keep an eye on almost everything.. :)

Where else could you have a chat with Heiko Bleher, discuss Discus and Plecos with people as they just caught them, view photos from natural landscapes, discuss shrimp with Chris Lukaup, request an autographed book from Oliver Knott?

So if you are not using Facebook now, please leave the cave and join the world.. :)

My MTS played up today and the only antidote was to buy another 1.2m tank.

This is the last chance for anyone to come with me September 1st, up the very last unexplored and unlived Amazon tributary – never in history explored before – in search for the last undiscovered Discus population and uncountable fish and invertebrate (and animal) species. I HAVE ONLY ONE SEAT LEFT, in the boat shown here – we are in 3 plus a Indian Guide and a boatman and 1200 l fuel. E-mail me heiko@aquapress-bleher.com

Are you going, Luis... net and blow pipe at the ready ?

Sounds as though it could be a three old men in a boat scenario with dotty fish collectors and no place to escape and one with a severe flatulence handicap.. hence one seat left :evil6:

Sure I would go another time with more warning, but fighting off mean rats here so will take piranhas in my stride...

    enjoy

My wife was complaining about the electricity use blaming my tanks for it :ang4:. So last night at 11 I took a reading, switched everything off except my tanks and this morning at 6 took another reading. 0.9 KWH used for 2 tanks and the fridge over 7 hours. Tonight I think I will repeat the experiment but now we can add her electric blanket to the mix.
