This topic is actually about a serious threat to the water supply and alien fish species possibly reaching the Olifants rivier that is home to some rather scarce indigenous fish.
If memory serves something like 8 out of 10 species are found nowhere else in the world, but I suppose it really does not matter that one of the most important freshwater fish conservation areas in this country is under threat.

OK now that's my daily rant done for today;-)

oh yes.. one of your pet gripes ;)

Suggestion: toi toi. Millions have proven that it works.

Regrettably, unless it affects the wellbing of the affluent, no-one will pay anyattention, and nothing will be done to rectify the matter. And the outdated white list will remain just that: OUTDATED.

My rant for the day. ;)

I suppose managing and conserving nature in a reactive way will keep a lot of our endangered or unique species alive for my children to appreciate.

But then again considering how much gusto the peeps at MCM shows when you report sales of blacklisted species expecting reaction out of peolpe in the street is maybe asking a bit much...

As you know Richard trying to conserve the little indigenous life we have left in our rivers is something I feel quite strongly about and as a fiskeeper I have interest in all fish not just the couple I keep in my tanks.

I know, and I agree, but as I said: unless it affects the wellbeing of the affluent, no-one will pay any attention, and nothing will be done to rectify the matter.

There is a subtle distinction to be made between Eco-Terrorists and Eco-Freedom fighters...
