Update time ... The algae clear out on 36 degrees was way to successful .. to the point that I had and snail explosion that then once the dead algae was gone went for other plants ... the BUCE suffered, then I got sidetracked with the entire TDS thing on 36 degrees.. Among all of this I stopped all my SA dosing .. hit some BBA with H2O2 spot dosing in Lucky 13 ... but saw some of the other green filament returning a week later, left it for another week then on Wednesday did a single SA dose to Lucky 13....

I suspect that it can also have a negative impact on other plants and fish ...

Careful with this stuff ... verdict is still out what the net affect is on plants and fish etc.

Dischem .. they all stock it to makes mixes with .... but you need to have a conversation with the pharmacist first.

I had grown totally fed-up with my Clado problems and decided to cut down the light (ditching my LEDs for a single Hagen LifeGlo) and then daily double dosing of excel, applied directly to the Clado for a week and then the same but with H2O2 for a week. I'm now into round 2 of that and am finally winning the war on the damned stuff.

Incidentally, you never get it off the Bolbitis. Cut those leaves off. I guess the same for the fissidens but spot treating might help there.

Yeah the H2O2 seems a safer route and less chance of over dosing ... I almost lost all my buce - semi calculate risk - because I was doing several changes at the same time.
Fertz, light, algae control and experimenting with urea, B-complex (BTW this needs more investigation - I can force new leaves - they are just not very strong) and then the SA on top of that well well. The snail infestation that was having a field day on new growth.

Things are looking much better now .. letting the weak leaves decay naturally

Still doing SA on Lucky13 .. but did not do the other crazy stuff on that tank so .. will be continuing the SA experiments.

As an example of how quickly H2O2 can have an impact ...

    This was Thursday morning.

I have not give up on using SA ... but have only done so in small regular maintenance doses. Went cold turkey on Lucky13 allowed for a little neglect and have a nice test bed for this round.
