Steve and I have just come back from a jaunt to one of the larger LFS's in the northern subs and I am absolutely disgusted!!!

There is a tank with about 7 lutino oscar juvies.... 3 of which are totally covered in Ich.

Large discus that are all cowered in a corner with a definite dark tinge to them... a sure sign that they are not well nor happy
Smaller discus sharing a tank with cories - the cories have about 4 of these discus in a corner and are eating the slime coating off their bodies

About 100 baby angels crowded into a 100L tank - all of which are gasping for air at the top

I can go on and on about the disturbing conditions... but I am sure you all get the picture.

I have a R35 fish voucher from this store and I can assure you I will NEVER buy fish there... so if any of you in Cpt want it... it's yours, just come and collect it.

This could get very very nasty guys.

I would not just asume that its there mistakes.
Better get the full story before any fingers are pointed.Im not defending them just clearly stating that the comments in this thread can be taken up the wrong way.
    I would be very carefull.

d3tained, While I get where you are coming from, if you re-read the original post you will see that no libelous remarks where made against the place concerned, they were not slandered.
Obvious visible issues were commented on, ie: the facts, no assumptions were made or conclusions jumped to.
Simply the facts stated and a personal choice made of not shopping there again, this is not illegal.
Its not like they were called "crooks" or anything.

Sorry but I saw it to on Saturday it's a shame this is my local I really felt sorry for the fish - funy enough the palce was packed and everyone was walking out with their new tanks and gravel, heater and bags full of fish for their new set ups.
Me and my girlfriend had this discussion is it morally right that this is happenning?

    Hi

I sometimes also see some poor looking fish there.I wonder if they dont maybe get some of them like that from the suppliers.I would say they have there on and off days.As for allot of angels in one small tank is on them. The discus they had there is wild caught so they are very stressed hence the bad color. For teh cories being in with discus also on them.

As for people buying stuff from there.I think there prices are good for the quality you get in hardware. Also very well known place so over weekends this place is always busy.I also think allot of beginners buy there stuff there so would not really know they are buying good or bad quality fish. Its all about the name.
