Since I've accidentally bought so many of these, I thought I'd start a list of the ones I know about :) Please add if you have any!

    Hemigraphis colorata

Thanks silver fox for the ID, this plant will eventually die if completely submerged (Looks very similar to the Purple Waffle which is similarly also commonly sold as aquatic plants)

    Mondo grass

Thanks WBS for ID. Next time I do a pathway with sleepers in my garden I'll get these from my LFS at R20 a pop - cheaper than your average nursery :D

    Non-variegated corn plant??

Looks much the same as the corn plant, but leaves are a darker green. Same bamboo-like stem and orange roots.

    Corrections welcome!

I also suspect the plant above to be terrestrial, anyone know what this is? (sorry, not much left of the plant after it has been in my tank for 2 weeks!).

I is has a fleshy stem and leaves, there are fine hairs on the stem. It becomes mushy after a 2 weeks in water and starts disintegrating.

I will look out for it in LFS's and take a proper picture - they sell it all over the place in Cape Town.

I think that is Bacopa amplexicaulis, it's not a good aquatic.

It's a marsh plant, but it doesn't really grow submersed there are much better options, Bacopa caroliniana or Bacopa monnieri are more common.
