And here I thought not to mention the MTS syndrome after reading your intro.

You certainly at the right place.

What are your breeding tank dimensions?

    Cool pics by the way

Hi I am currently working in Mozambique my wife and son is in Pretoria breeding , pics will only come month end . The guppy ponds are 2500 liter and I have a 70 liter filter in filled with poly bags and bagging cotton on top wit 2500 l/hr pumps. I do a 9 hr water change per day, replacing plus minus 5% per day, because we run on very high density's 1-3 fish per liter of water , this is for the guppies . I currently do pure strains don't like mixing
(Moscow black , metallic dark blue, red blonds and metallic yellow importing platinum soon . I will talk for ever , but yes my other fish have a automated water system replacing plus minus 10% per day on a 24 hr bases with canister filters( home made) ,except for hatchery this I use 50% Reverse Osmosis water to increase the hatch-ability . (I have stunning angels all imported stock). I do appreciate the chat as in Mozambique there is no one to chat to . What live food you feed ?????

Sounds quite cool, there are a few of us trying to create new pure strains here is SA. It is slow going as you have too start with some really random fish from the petshop.

Will be a lot easier if you could have some already pure strains.

No problem I breed for the importer and he imports clean females they haven't been with males (not all strains ) some strains more as specially the dark strains don't breed pure and I do't think they will ever . For me if 75% of the offspring resembles the parents that's good enough . You are more than welcome to get fish from my stock , I breed with 500-1000 females that's guppies. The angels I have, I try to breed pure strains (colors )Platinum ,black velvet, zebra , panda , koi, golden marble and light blue pinoy . I dont breed altums or F1 etc , as they don't breed very well and mine need to breed , one thing I be-leave what you put in you will get out .I feed my breeders the best I can afford as they pay for their own boarding .And for mine .I am currently looking to import green angels and red angels , but its very difficult due to legislation abroad.

How many fish do you think are imported every month , rather how many importers are there in SA . Its unbelievable, SA imports 90% of the fish from abroad . We don't export .Have you ever been to a importer they have staff working around the clock packing fish for pet shops and whole fish shops . There is a lot of mad people like us !!!!!!!!

Rustenburg, but we travel to Pta once in a while to go look for new genes and interesting guppies.

But you you know how it goes when us fish crazy people get together, it's just fish talk and ideas for hours on end.

Seeing a lot more platinum angels around than before, there a chance that they are coming from you?

    P. S your surname is not maybe Murfin?
