Here is a close-up of 2 of my Emperor Tetras which I picked up from Cameron on Tuesday. Thanks Oom Bert!   ;D

EDIT: I hope you don't mind, I've cleaned up the photo above using a great tool called PureImage that was recommended on one of the photography threads on the forum. It has helped take away a lot of the noise in the photo & get the lighting a lot closer to how it actually looked when I took the photo... The cleaned up photo is below.

Hehehe, good bump, how does the voting work?, can anyone vote?, only those who submitted photos?, admins and mods only?
    More input! :)

Sorry guys. I am a bit stuffed at work at the moment. I promise I will post the voting guidelines a bit later today.

    Hi guys

Since the interest has not been as high as we thought we have decided to only award one prize for this contest. The subject matter was probably not the best as we dont all have good macro cameras. I promise the next one will be easier

Voting is now open. You can vote for up to 2 photos. The first vote will count for 2 points and the second vote will count for 1 point.

At the end I will calculate the photo with the highest score and announce the winner.

Please feel free to add comments with your votes, and maybe give us an idea for the next round.

    Just list your 2 choices

    My vote:

1.) GDJ - you caught the movement of the fish very well with this photo
2.) benny - great detail, I love the reflections in the bubbles

    Can Participants vote?

If yes then it's not easy
The question is whether it's ethically acceptable to vote for yourself.... Hmmmm

    1. Henk - Nice flower and well done for getting the plant in such healthy state it flowered for you.

    2. Benny - Very nice photo love the reflections

Andre in future I think it will be good thing to list the equipment used and camera settings when you took the shot and the software enhancements.

(@KimH - best removed photo vote goes to you. ;-)

    OK,

    1. Benny -  for the reflections, the crispness and the thought that went into obtaining the shot in  the first place.

    2. Henk - not only because this is APSA, but because of the clarity the flower is portrayed with, even showing the folds and shadows on the petals.

I agree with Gawie regarding the equipment used, as I am sure that the two people I voted for, were at minimum using DSLR's.
Maybe in future we should have two catagories one for SLR's, and one for P&S's.

    Hey guys

To avoid confusion, please ignore the poll and vote in the posts.

Sorry Cam. We can think about using a poll in the next one if you are ok with it?

    :'( Geez. Thanks guys!

Not even one measly vote. Talk about nipping my aspirations of becoming an aquatic photographer in the bud...

Sheesh! You just can't find good forum buddies nowadays

Wait until the next photo comp! When that day arrives I'm gonna unleash a can of Tanganyikan photography whip ass on you all with my secret weapon thats gonna arrive from the UK on Saturday...

Anyway, for this comp, I'll go with Henk's pic. But next time Henk - and please pardon the pun - your ass is mine...

You've been given advanced notice of my future victory... (evil laugh)!!!

    My vote:

    1) GDJ
    2) CFL

Although I think the plant photos are really good, I also think its much harder to take a good picture of a moving fish! (I've spent a while trying!)
