So this thing about sharing pics and content, sometimes you look for input, other times it is just an aaah hello world thing.

This is my log for Q's and stuff on APSA.

So here goes .. stardate 69295.2 - first entry.

    I was leaning over Lucky 13 ....

    spot00.jpg

Admiring some of the growth on the shelf and spotted something I never thought I would see.

    spot01.jpg

How the cow did you get here .. - then I spotted several other also on the shelf.

    spot02.jpg

Now the only thing that I can think is that cows went crazing up stream ...

    spot03.jpg

Clipped in and scaled that stream, no way they made it via the canister return.

    spot04.jpg

The shelf was recently replanted and cleaned and nothing comes from a tank that had grazers - some of this is from LFS Anubias stock.

    spot05.jpg

I am not complaining, just wonder how and what - rather weird.

    spot06.jpg

After all the road onto the shelf is not that easy.

Yeah thought that might be the case - for the life of me none of the three plants on the shelf had that exposure - but hey maybe it is a service form the LFS - free cows with every plant ? IF they did they would have been small at the time - but that time was two weeks ago - and the size on some of these seem to indicate that no they did not grow to this size in two weeks.

Gonna try and count the herd see if the number jump around.

STOP the press ..... Just finished posting the previous response - turn to my right and see a head bobbing in the corner, Realize that water proof pentax zoom will not work so dash to go find the old cannon 450D and out-of-hand start shooting what I would never have thought possible.

    noway01.jpg
    It starts up the side

    noway02.jpg
    reaches for the under-hang
    noway03.jpg
does a "stretch" into the dripping column

    noway04.jpg

power climbs up and along the the canopy
    noway05.jpg
    Big Dyno for the edge
    noway06.jpg

Drops off back into the tank ...

The water level is a good 3 cm under that shelf .. I think I will add a bit and see how the number increase.

This one so almost made it

Good thing I did not go on my LFS crawl - or I would never have known for sure what was going on.

Very cool. It's interesting that the shrimps are so inquisitive.

BTW, ferdie, are you a climber?

Been stuck with my head in my PI's most of the day - speed test on SD cards vs USB storage etc ... so have not been paying much attention to the tanks.

I am purely speculating - maybe the shelf has more algae that they like?

Many, many , many moons have passed since I man handled a chalk ball ... CityRock just opened in JHB - might think about doing some gym climbing if the body will allow the abuse.
    cool.jpg

This one is addicted to eating from these ceramics. Water flow is from right to left ... seems like it has mastered the art of keeping the body in a drop of water while it walks on "dry land"
