    It will definitely stain the water, so if you want clear water you should probably stay away from the teabags.

    I personally prefer the tannin in the water, it looks more natural...

    Yes it does look quite cool, but the logs give the same effect, does it have the same chemical benefits for the tank?

    Andre please correct me if i'm wrong but yes, they do the same, just doesn't work that good on a big tank, tried it but after 2 weeks all chemicals are gone. that's why i stick to peat moss, or tea bags.

    sure bru. but ya, Andre how long have you been using the teabag method? i maybe want to give it a try, i just stick with peat moss cause that's what i know.

    Iv been doing it about a week now, started with two tea bags in the filter and have come down to one bag because of excessive tannin, just one thing thou my plecco doesnt seem to like it very much or is it something els irritating him?

    philfarm, what is he doing and what type is he? i had a gibeceps, golden nugget and a whiptail in my tank and they where fine. i've also cept the normal pleco with the tannins.

    I like to be adventurous with my tank but I think Im gonna give the tea bag thing a rest for now...
