Never mind, just finished reading thru the 16 pages of post's at Petfrd.com
Lot's of info, pics and personal experience there.
OMG...............they are lovvvvvvvely
so who is going to import them
Might be cheaper if we can get the UK contact which I'm sure HW will be MORE THAN WILLING to tell us
nuge nuge wink wink
I only know they are imported by BAS in Bolton.
those are awesome little fish. The colours on the fins kind of reminds me of those rocket panchax killies.
This fish has been described by Tyson Roberts in the Raffles Bulletin of Zoology, it is now officially Celestichthys margaritatus Roberts, 2007. The name means Pearl-adorned Heavenly Fish
The "Celestial Pearl Danio"
Thanks for the update, Heng Wah.
We can only hope that someone will bring these into SA soon.
so its more than a year later, has anyone seen these in sa yet?
BTW there is a new paper that assigns this species to Danio. I have gone through the paper and while I am not a trained taxonomist, I nevertheless am not prepared to accept the paper and hence will continue to refer to it as Celestichthys margaritatus.
I have seen these fish (here in Austria) "in the flesh" and trust me the photos do not do them justice! They are amazing litlle fish!
As I only have the nano at the moment and had already got fish for it I couldnt buy any. :'(
I can keep an eye open if anyone wants to import them privately?
Hey Heng Wah, good to see you around again.
Do you know how prolific these fish are? Perhaps we should try and get some to Oom Bert.
Hi Ryan, I have been neglecting my fishes and doing much more on flora and some dance photography.
It seems these guys are not very hard to breed.
If its the "Cetestial Pearl Danio" you can give Nick from Hartlands a call I know he could get some a while ago @ R50 a piece
R50 is a bit expensive for a danio, is anybody keen to try breed them?
Ha finely getting some 2day! Have wanted this fish since I first joined aspa and couldnt think of anything better for my nano!!
