ok I'm making progress. about a month ago my gbr laid eggs. water at 28 deg c. <100ppm heavily planted. no ammonia etc. good water. the eggs weren't fully hatched before i sucked about 15 of them up and put them in a small floating breeder tank and tried something new. i set up a brine shrimp hatchery the next morning it looked like half of them were gone. i panicked and threw most of the survivors back hoping they'd swim to mom and dad. they were quickly gobbled up by my other fish which left me with 3 survivors in the breeder tank. once they were proper, free swimming fry i started feeding the brine shrimp. one of them looked weak, smaller than the rest and died about 3 days later. this was about a week since they hatched and survived longer than my previous attempts. of the two that remained. one swam through one of the holes at the bottom of the breeder tank and... either died being eaten or of starvation. the last one is STILL ALIVE. ive been feeding him brine shrimp and he's growing big and strong. about 5mm in length now
Fantastic, great to hear you're making progress! I hope that little guy keeps going strong.. I've just had two failed spawns of my GBRs..
