Hi my name is john smith. I love Marine Tanks. Have any of you guys kept a marine tank. Everything in a marine tank even the sand has living components in them. Plants are cool but corals are better. Maybe your'll should have a look at a few marine tanks at www.sareefkeeping.com. Don't be fooled by the myths, marine tanks are not difficult to maintain.

Well thanks for the shameless plug Marine Tanks Rule. LOL
Have you thought about creating a marine planted tank, I can help you with that if you want?

Also, you did not read the sticky before you posted, what is your real name?

Marine planted tanks are awesome in my opinion. There are as far as I know approx. 40 species of marine algae and sea grasses known as angiosperms (There may be more but I'm not a marine expert). Alot of these plants grow way too large for a tank but some of them do stay smallish. Marine angiosperms include: Lorincia, Caulerpa, Udotea, Neomeris, Bataphora, Penicillus, Rhipocephalus, Halimeda etc. And some species of red algae, Galaxaura marginata, and Gracilaria.
    Turtle grass too, Thalassia species.

    Here's a link to a semi-planted marine tank.

Perhaps we may be able to get some for you in the near future but for now we are concentrating our efforts to get more freshwater species in as they are lacking in SA. You would have to enquire with the marine experts over at Cerven's site. Good luck, I hope you find some.

I don't know Cerven personally but we have conversed on email on a few occasions. He was kind enough to come and introduce himself on our opening day. His nic is Curvball and his introduction is in this forum.

No worries Mr. Smith, glad you like the new site and hope you will hang around. Perhaps you can share some of your marine tank pics with us.

The shop is still being developed, for the time being we will only be selling fish and plants. The hardware will come later. We are still sorting out import politics etc.
Hopefully we will have the Amano equipment (ADA) products for sale shortly. Aswell as some nice CO2 equipment and a great range of fertilisers from Singapore, they have similar water make-up to us so their ferts should do well here. Watch this space, its coming soon :)

No not yet but I would very much like to have a live rock reef setup with sea horses, Bengal Cardinals (spelling?), Green Bubbletip anemone and lots and lots Caulerpa :)
