    Here is a complete list of low tech plants, have not checked which are blacklisted and which ones are totally pest though - JP

    This is an excellent list of low light plants for anyone looking for plants to start a low light tank. It was posted by James From Cali at: http://www.myfishtank.net/

    *Do not ned high light to attain pink color. Dosing Iron can bring out this color. I have learned this from experience.

    Another great plant for low tech tanks is Vallis...specially once it acclimatises to excel.

    Other plants that's also not on that list but are thriving in my low tech tanks:
    • Giant Hygro - Hygrophila Corvombrosa "Stricta"
    • Willow Leaf Hygro - Hygrophila Corvombrosa "Angustifolia"
    And seeing as one can not grow a glosso or HC carpet without CO2...I personally think the best foreground plant that low tech guys can use is Staurogyne repens

    Some very cool info. Thanks. The only one I spotted of the top of my head on the weed list is the parrot feather.

    I have grown HC carpets without CO2 but it takes extremely long and does not look as good when using CO2.

    Sounds like a lot of PT to grow HC without CO2 in any way.

    Hey @JAX i wanted to know if vallis is black listed ? I have been told by some people that its black listed and just wanted to know if thats true or not ?

    Not as far as i know...some exotic species maybe. But the regular, spiral and nano i doubt...

    Have a look on my website (in my signature below)...in the download section...there you'll find the alien/blacklist...for plants, fish, inverts and amphibians ;)
