Problem with Buce's...because they such slow growers, if people see them...they buy everything. Good luck with your quest...if you do find, please let me know...as I always want to expand my collection Richard still has a few cherish left: http://www.betterweather.co.za/shop/home/145-bucephalandra-cherish.html
Stumbled onto this https://buceplant.com/collections/bucephalandra Wrong country, but still. BTW I think Buce are easier than anubias - they just grow way slower. Later Ferdie
I'm also looking for buce too but man they are hard to get and cherish is not what I'm looking for. I've seen the other collections and I have not seen any others than cherish online in SA. @shihr, would you consider importing them if members here show an interest in buying them?
Just remember, imported buce's...you looking at R300 plus per plant. That's what I paid for them a few years back, so might even be a bit more...and that's for the "common" ones. The rarer ones will be even more pricey @wudze
Not from what I'm hearing on TASA - estimated price is around R150. But then again, it depends on the species / type. Apparently the import is in red tape so we're waiting to hear what happens.
As long as it aint hearsay from Moolis. He's been "wanting" to import Buce's since the beginning of the year, it's just a smokescreen if you ask me. If he really wanted to, he would've gotten the permits and imported them. ...and at R150 a pop, means they cheaper than Anubias (imports), highly unlikely...but IF that's the case, buy them all, you can make a pretty penny on the resell market
perhaps Moolis was doing a joint import with Hartlands, did this happen ? http://www.apsa.co.za/xenforo/posts/210254/
Yeah I hear you, the more rarer ones would probably cost more for sure. I saw that thread was old so I'm not really hoping for a miracle to be honest. I'll rather rely on Richard if he does another import in future and just get it from him or some of the APSA members on here if there are any available. Still it'll be a miracle if we get any varieties other than "Cherish". And speaking of R150 a pop, that price either includes or doesn't include the permit costs... so it may cost more in the end. So I really don't know what the full story is to be honest. I mean surrounding the red tape regarding the import permit for the shipment into the country - I wouldn't hold my breath really.
