so out of the blue my ottos seems to have multiplied MANY times, haha. there are eggs and tiny ottos everywhere! (this is very good news)... but now i want to try and keep them safe and contained and one of my concerns is:

What do i feed the little tiny volk?

Firstly...congrats, not may people can say they successfully bred otos.

Little guys will need diatoms...and lots of it!! Set up a tank with PFS in it...sponge filter (or any filter for water movement, you dont need filtration) and let it run with lights on 24/7. Add glass or perspex inside the tank...to which the diatoms can "attach" itself to. You can also try smooth pebbles...

Then just transfer them to your "oto" tank...

Yes diatoms are good, also consider or combine with Spirulina powder or tablets from your health food store, but use sparingly ...

also for food don't forget baby blanched marrows, works a dream, just remember take it out after two days before it starts to rot..
Take the pips out first, which has not been done in this picture, as they are not eaten and quickly detach..
