    Howzit guys.

Have anybody thought about using the LED bars they fit to bakkies to use for lights in there planted tank. I’ve found lights that gives 18000 lumens. Seen a Bakkie coming down the street the other night and it looked if they had a sports stadium light on the back of the Bakkie it’s unbelievable bright.
I know that plants grow on specific wavelengths of light and the question will be if the light gives you the correct wavelengths.
    But anybody tried it before?

    Thanks

I have been using LED bars over my tank. The plants grow well. But these get hot and need cooling if you are going to use them over an aquarium. Simply super-gluing them to a chunk of aluminium won't do it. To keep mine in the correct operating temperature I have to run them at about 50% of their potential (but this is still ample to grow the plants).
