    Hi all

I have been in JHB for about 9 months now and after selling everything in before moving to CapeTown I am ready to start a new tank.

Can any body tell me where a good LFS store is in the Edenvale Area where I can start?

    hey man, welcome back!!! :D

i dont know of any petshops in edenvale, but there are a couple of big ones in boksburg, which isnt too far away...

petmasters - cheap equipment, tanks and products, a couple of plants, loads of livestock in poor conditions though, so i never buy fish there... i got my juwel rio 400 tank from there R2K cheaper than anywhere else.

exotic pets - lots of tanks, lots of fish, some plants, decent conditions, mostly knowledgeable staff...

in between them not sure what the name of the place is - lots of stock, some plants, ok prices and healthy.

if you are willing to drive a bit further there is animal kingdom in hillfox, they have decent plants, lots of fish and seachem products but are quite pricey, and animal kingdom in pretoria is cheaper than the one in jhb...

vip pets in northgate also has decent plants, lots of stock etc. ok prices...

kennilworth aquarium center in the south has decent fish with loads of malawi's and a few plants...

Welcome back Jacobus! I look forward to seeing what you're going to create this time. You have always had a knack for setting up decent nature aquariums...

    So keep the photos coming!

    cheers!

    Hi all.

Well after about 2 weeks I am still without a tank.

I am shocked at what Petshops in JHB sell decent tank hardware for and what there is to choose from.

I will be better of buying the tank in CPT and shipping it up when I am down there again.

So for now looks like the tank will have to wait.

    Will keep you guys updated.

    Hi all.

Thx Wears but I am looking for a new tank.About 100 litres for a nice planted multies tank.
I am kinda scared to go second hand and looking for a proper tank. Not the cheap ones with the "foam" at the botem. My previous one cracked.

A new petshop opened closed to me about 2 weeks ago but they are also over priced.
Same price for a proper 60l litre as a proper 100 litre in CPT.

Think im just going to bring a tank from CPT once I go there again or just take the bucks and spend it.

    Thx again.
