Intro - Looking at starting a Planted Tank

    My tank is 610mm deep, you can upgrade your lighting unit by adding a proper reflector for each tube Wolf has done a proper thread on how to do this.

    I can always add to lights or the reflector option as well. So looks like lighting might not be a major problem. Currently I have 2x10000k tubes, 2x actinic tubes and 2x pink/purple tubes which I don't know the rating of. But I will change them if needed. Obviously I can only use 4 at a time.

    Thanx guys. I will have a look at that thread when time permits. I wanna get the best start as possible.

    You won't use the actinics unless you use them as ambient light. They are for marine corals and I believe will give you algae. Is there anything written on the pink/purple tubes?

    I don't mind changing my current globes. I'll have to check on them to see if anything is written

    If the globes are old rather replace them with the correct tubes
