    Hi Leonard,

Kelpak contains cytokinins extracted from seaweed which, in principle, stimulate root formation. However, there are no problems with the rooting of aquatic plants and because they are in water, they can also absorb nutrients directly from the water without using their roots. So the need to develop a better root system in aquatic plants in not really required. However, there is one distinct down side to using Kelpak and that is its salt concentration, in other words Sodium Chloride specifically, which is far too high and will upset other macronutrients such as Potassium, Calcium and Magnesium.

So my advice is to use Kelpak in your garden, but not in your aquaria.

    Kind regards,

    Dirk

Seachem recently came out with this product. The jury is still out whether it works or not. But personally I'm a bit sceptical. Its just adding stuff that the plants are providing themselves.
