I liked the aggressive use of plants in the second photo
OK I'll never post via URL's from now on.
I couldn't control myself back then..
i see you have a cat tv
welcome to APSA!
I saw you light ballast was tied down with cable ties,
I had mine like that before and learnt the hard way
when i found them melted onto my ballast
they can get quiet hot...dont mind me just i didnt want
to have to break my ballast to get the cable ties off when
i was done..
thanks for pointing that out. It's not what's securing it. I was testing out the light and where all the parts were going to be located, that was just a temp solution at the time. Right now I'm painting the frame, then will be screwing the ballast onto the frame.
i just wasnt happy when my ballast had cable
ties engraved into it, haha
I'll let the pictures tell a story what I got up to today.
What are those bottles for ? It reminds me of those water bottles one use for a hamster.
That's my DIY Temporary CO2 reactor. At first it was cool now it's just in the way. I'm currently building an external one.
The green stuff you used, what is it? (the netting stuff)
I'll be honest I don't know what it's called. But it's netting like stuff I got at Builders Warehouse. Think it's used to sectioning off gardens or for creepers to grow up. I did some running around today and found Builders to be best value at R34 for a 500x1000mm piece.
Worse part of this was sewing the edges together with fishing line. Was very long and tedious to do.
Reason I did this is that my cat loves to jump at my tank from a box sitting next to the tank, blocking up the side so nothing can be seen should hopefully help prevent that, also wanted to test out this moss wall to see how it looks. So far my shrimps love it.
Nice! I also want to try something like that at some point.
Will post the updates as it grows. I took some cool pics earlier of my tank.. well mainly the shrimps that are loving the new foliage. I hope the Gloss I got holds up, least till I get a better substrate. Need to get my hands on some Osmocote in the mean time.
Loading pics to pc now, will post shortly
Wow, looks like a whole new tank...awesum stuff dude, now for the growout, gna be a stunner for sure
Very nice! It will be interesting to see the growth. I think I'll go do a moss wall tonight too, tx
There is a strange light/refraction effect in the the photos though that makes it almost looks like inverts. Bizarre
Some updated pics to show my growth. So far these plants are all donations and freebies, quite fun figuring out how each grows etc.
Nicely done! Your pictures are so clear and bright. And the tank looks rad. Gonna be cool when everything grows in. Makes me want to put plants in my gravel!
Nice work Richard
