    Hi everyone.

Posting images on APSA is relatively quick and easy.

In order for a picture to display in your post, you need to host your image on another site as APSA cannot store everyone's images. Here is a list of image hosting sites that allow for direct linking:

    http://www.imgur.com
    http://www.imageshack.us
    http://www.photobucket.com
    http://www.imagestation.com
    http://www.villagephotos.com
    http://www.picturetrail.com

If your image hosting site does not allow direct linking you will most likely find that instead of your image being displayed there will be a nasty error message instead.

Let's assume you have chosen http://www.imageshack.us as your hosting site. The first thing you need to do is upload your image to ImageShack. This is very easy.

Step 1: I want to upload my picture, so I click on "Browse" to locate the image, and then I click on "Host It!":

Please note that if your image is larger than 640 x 640 pixels you should use the resize option on ImageShack to make it smaller.

Step 2: Now that my image is uploaded, I copy the direct link to the image, the option highlighted with a red border:

Step 3: Now paste this link into your post, inside IMG tags like this, and post your message:

You can do this by highlighting the direct link text you pasted in and clicking on the "Image" button [IMG] on the toolbar, or simply typing in the tags yourself. Don't forget to close them, and dont put any spaces in there.

The final product will look something like this:

Now you have no excuse not to show us your setups!

    Hi, guys\gals.

Seems you need to now register\create an account to be able to view photo's hosted on www.imageshack.us.

Other forums I frequent have asked their members not to make use of www.imageshack.us no more. I too would like to encourage our members to rather use one of the other image hosting sites. It is quite frustrating not being able to see photo's and to force people to go and register on their site is a move I hope would backfire on them.

    Thanks for your co-operation.

    The APSA Moderation Team.

Posting images on APSA made (real) easy

So since it seems everyone has issues uploading images to the far inferior ImageShack here is a easier way to upload and host images using: www.photobucket.com/ You get 1GB of free space which is more than enough for anyone to use, so just look at the image and directions and posting images will be made hassle free:

    Step 1:

    Step 2:

    Step 3:

    Step 4:

    Step 5:

    Step 6:

    Step 7:

    Step 8:

    Step 9:

And in 9 easy steps you can post your images properly on APSA, you can also use your Facebook or Twitter to log into your photobucket account.

I've got a photobucket account but me, and some other APSA users, are stuck on our mobile smartphones. And none of the photo sharing sites are mobile friendly.

I'm burning to post some pics of my nano makeover.

But thanks for a very good explanation!!

Uploading images from your cell phone to PC in a few easy steps

So since most people have smart phones these days there is now a real easy way to upload images that you have taken with your smart phone to your PC. No blue tooth or cables required. Download the app for your phone using the app store (it is free) and register. Then set it up so it downloads the photos to your laptop/pc when you are using your 3G or Wireless. Just be aware when using your 3G it will use up your data it does not when you are connected to your wireless ADSL router. Then install the app for your laptop/pc here: https://www.dropbox.com/ and use the same username and password you used for your phones app. Now when you take a images using your smart phone it will automatically download to your dropbox folder on your laptop/pc and you can upload it to photobucket. Enjoy!

If you got issues setting it up they got a nice helpful help centre located here: https://www.dropbox.com/help/

Get Tapatalk unlimited and you can upload images direct from your mobile and Tapatalk does the hosting.

You can reverse upload images or files using dropbox by copying the files you want on your phone too the dropbox folder on your laptop and if your laptop has a internet connection it will upload the files to your phone. Just be aware it will use bandwidth on your phone and ADSL account if you do not have your phone on the same wireless network as your PC.

Can I not transfer them across via USB, can't see how to do it via itunes. The other way from iphone to my PC seems straight forward on itunes.
