    Hey Guys!
    I recently joined the forum!
I've been a reef keeper for the past 4 years and about 6months ago i decided to do some makeover to my pond and create an outdoor freshwater tank!
I started the pond and decided to add a tank to the top and connect the 2 together,
both are using the same filteration
The top tank i'm using as a breeding tank, and has 3 compartment first compartment,
has a pair of Koi angel
The second chamber has a group of sterbaai corry
and the third chamber i'm keeping shrimps, pair Bumblebee and pair of red crystals and a tyger shrimp
I've added ADA aquasoil to this chamber and planning to grow baby tears and other carpet plants!
at the bottom i'm keeping different type of guppies and my favorite 4 Garraruffa!
there are some cherry shrimp which been living there for a while now, not sure how many there are!
    for filteration i'm using:
    Seachem matrix
    Purigen
    10w UV sterilizer
    and filter floss!

I appreciate any input on the tank!

Welcome. Nice setup. Just a quick Q.
What do you have to keep the shrimps from going from one compartment to the next?

    Thanks!
    And very valid question!
The water runs from the first chamber to the last where the shrimps are ,
They used to escape into the overflow chamber but I added a overflow comb to keep them from escaping which has been working fine thus far [IMG]

Wow, that's amazing! Where do you live, and do outdoor temperatures give you problems in terms of heating your pond? Do you use just normal heaters or some super clever heating method?

    Thanks!
    I live in welgemoed, bellville
I do struggle with the temperature a bit
I had a 300w jäger on it and it couldn't raise temperature to more than 22c and sometimes 20,
I added another 200w heater a few days ago and it's a bit more stable
But the electricity bill is killing me!

U can use a pool heater on there. It runs with a thermostat and is stronger than heater so won't stay on all time and eat electric. Only downside is its an expensive investment... If u interested, I have connections for cost price
