    Hi Paul

I have kept both Iriatherina werneri and Pseudomugil gertrudae, but I gave them to a fellow hobbyist when I moved house.

I suggest you contact Nick Hart. His username is hartlands on the forum. He might be able to source some of these fish for you.

    Hey Paul

I bought the gertrudae from Nick, I gave the other fish to another friend of mine.

Keep your eyes open, we see the White clouds in shops every now and again.

PS. Dont use the latin name when talking to the wholesalers, they probably wont know wth you are talking about :)

    Hi Andre:

I've tried everywhere, these people just dont have it, especially the most common white clouds. Yeah, you right about these wholesalers with these scientific names, some of them just says "Eish! I Don't know" even you tell them the common name. :)

Anyway! thank you guys for trying to help!

    Hi Guys,

Although I might expose myself to a flood, I will admit that I keep and breed Iriatherina werneri, the threadfin rainbow, and the yellow variety of Pseudomugil gertrudei (one also gets a grey and red-finned variety). Both are not difficult to get to breed, raising Pseudomugil gertrudei is not that difficult, but threadfin rainbows are very difficult to raise as they have absolutely tiny fry and need miniscule food to raise them. I basically maintain my stocks and do not raise any large amounts for sale, so anyone wanting these fish will have to negotiate with me and be patient as to when I might have fry. Also small fry cannot be transported and only fish that have a reasonable size can be shipped, and they transport badly, with numerous losses. Remember Pseudomugil gertudei do not get larger than 2.5 cm max. I have also kept Pseudomugil furcata, which are stunning little fish, but have recently lost them again as they require very clean water and excellent feeding. A general warning about the blue-eyes is that all of the fish mentioned are specialist fishes and not something that the beginner should even think of trying.

    Kind regards,

    Dirk Bellstedt

    Hi Prof Bellstedt:

Good day Prof. thank you for your information! I am well aware of the difficulties involved in breeding these specialized fish as I have some experience in breeding these fish. Perhaps you can give me some pointers regarding breeding methods in the tanks.

Prof when will these fish be ready to be sold and how much will their cost be?

    Yours thankfully

From what I read about them they breed fairly easily so I see no reason why they are hard to find...
