    Hi All

My name is Gerrit and i life in Brits approximately 30km from Pretoria. I currently have 2 Tanks, the first a 200l community tank with 2 Guramies, Guppies, 2 Clown Loaches, 8 Neon Tetras, 8 Glow Light Tetras, 4 Platies and 6 Corydoras. My second tank is a 40l breeding tank, currently full of guppy and Platies fry.

I done a ton of reading on the internet and saw some of the most beautiful landscaping pics and I decided i want to start a 300l Tetra tank full of moss. So if anyone can give me advice on what moss to use or any kind of advice it would be really appreciated.

I've been looking around APSA and want to say i feel right at home here and here lies a lot of knowledge!!!!

    Cheers

    Hey. there.

    Welcome to APSA.

What temperature do you keep the tank at you wish to keep these mosses in. The reason I ask is that, unlike Java moss, most of the more exotic mosses do not do all that well in high temperatures and are best kept in cooler waters.

If slowly acclimated most will survive higher temperatures, but I generally try and keep mine under 24 degrees. I was going to trim some Spiky moss today, but with the cold weather down here in the Cape and the tanks at around 13 degrees, I was a little reluctant to stick my hands in the water today.

    Hi, there.

I generally don't charge for my mosses, even though I paid a small fortune to get most into the country. My mission is to establish a good supply among South African hobbyists. My only condition is that if it grows well for you, you'll share with others. I will however have to charge for shipping though.
