Replacing the Aquaclear 300 in our bedroom with a fluval 305 was the best move I have done in a looong time. Thanks for that Mel!! my wife loves me for it

More pics of Botox please Kim (or Steve)!!!
Melissa, a rare pic of the big beast on the glass
Wow... he looks huuuuge what have you been feeding him? lol
hahaha, he's always been huge! He eats copious quantities of cucumber and hikari alge wafers. I haven't had a chance with the marrow yet though.
The flash and the Phantom are also both doing very well, yet to get them interested in cucumber though.
Those plecos are more interested in shrimps and other crustaceans. Add some frozen mysis shrimp for the at night.
Will get their full diet from the DATZ book for you tonight.
Thanks for the info Andre, I am wondering if supplementing his diet with some Tetra Betta will help... it contains shrimp and krill. I also have some mega tropical frozen food - however I don't want him to get too much bigger or else I am going to have an issue with a tank large enough to house him.
I think you should not try to stunt him on purpose, it's not really good for him. How big do they get?
eish boet - i have standards - they are low - but i still have them
Andre, you seem to have misunderstood me.
Let me rephrase, I am not trying to stunt or purposefully reduce growth, however the intention here is not to maximise growth, but to provide a healthy diet which will promote normal growth.
For further explanation I mean I want a healthy fish, it so happens that they are a large breed fish. They can get to 60cm - however I doubt that is applicable in an aquarium setting. He is already around 25cm and very wide.
Further to your earlier post with regards to your recommendations about their preferred diet, an examination of the Hikari food containers, containing the food that I feed my fish reveals that your recommendations are taken care of by Hikari. Therefore no further supplementation is needed. I do however thank you for your concern in this regard.
Kim, the plec looks great too! I've never was able to grow them that size, haven't had much success with them either. It must be the water down by you guys.
Kim, Botox is a L001 Glyptoperichthys joselimaianus, Size 30.5cm SL. He wnt get to 60cm.
If that is correct then Botox has another 5.5cm's to go before he reaches full size... stunting his growth would then be impossible.
Sorry - I misunderstood
The hikari stuff sounds good, what are the ingredients?
Andre, it's all good
Here's a link for the ingredients and further info
