Hi, Im looking for some ghost or red cherry shrimp for my fish pond in the pretoria area?
Sent you a PM
Doubt they will survive the winter frosts if outside, but I'm not from Pretoria
IMO shrimp are a waste in a pond as you can never really see them...
I have a heated pond, with a temp between 20 and 24 degrees, even stayed constant through the winter, i just want to get them as a cleaning crew.
I think I need to get me one of these. What fish do you have in there?
I use a Flobin with the top cut of, 1200l/h pump, 500W Heater.
Got some White clouds, albino and bronze cory`s, SAE`s and some guppies.
Now THAT is a cool idea....
Me see a pond in my future...how many liters? What is the setup?
If it keeps that temp you will be fine, not sure about the guppies and SAEs though as they will certainly try and eat the shrimp when introduced and especially their young..
I would certainly introduce better planted cover such as moss and pellia.
Thanks, i am getting more plants this weekend, including some moss.
The pond is about 700L, 1200l/h pump, 500W Heater.
That is very cool
Very nice. How much electricity does that end up using, especially in winter?
