Hi all... I have been trying to figure out how to post a few bargains for sale and have just worked out that I need to introduce myself before I am allowed to post anything. Thank you for the opportunity. My name is Graham. I was retrenched 9 years ago and decided that I did not want to work for anyone nor employ loads of staff anymore (I'm a miserable old sod), so I decided to try and make a living from my hobby. I have a very small business that I run from home in Table View. I build custom sized tanks to order (standard 3 year warranty against the seals leaking on all the tanks I build... I don't know if anyone else does that?) I also service, maintain, revamp, re-scape, repair, buy, sell, swap, trade in and rent out aquaria, livestock and equipment, mostly to/for businesses, but a few private tanks as well. All my personal tanks are freshwater and are mostly planted, low maintenance/low tech. I build a lot of Marine Set-ups, but do not service them. I have had (and still do have) many different fish and invertebrates breed in my personal and my clients tanks... I think they are just very happy with the conditions. I always endeavour to assist hobbyists to be successful at keeping their tanks alive and healthy, otherwise they would lose interest and the hobby would suffer. I am by no means an expert, but I have learned a few things over the years that I would be happy to pass on. The key to success is to THINK LIKE A FISH
Welcome to APSA Just a quick question, how much would a low iron glass 60l compare to a regular 60l price wise?
Hendre, thanks for the question. Not a straight forward answer unfortunately, because it depends on the finishes, thickness of glass etc. If you want an ADA type look it will cost around 5 x as much. If you just want an unpolished opti-white 60 liter tank, then you will pay about double the price. Hope that helps?
Yes, it is a lot. It seems that the opti-white glass is all imported, thus affected by fluctuations in the value of the $ Occasionally I get a gelukkie though, so stay in touch.
Welcome Mr Gapedi! Please participate on the forum with your knowledge as much as possible, newbies like me really appreciate input from experienced aquarists like yourself. Hopefully one day I can own one of your stunning tanks.
