What are your current water parameters and what are the specs of the air pump.
If I am going to take your discus, I need to know temp, pH, hardness and water change schedule so that I can get my water close to yours.

    Thanks

The Temp should be at 29 - 30 degrees. pH at about 6. Raise your temp and drop your pH

If you are not going to be breeding the discus i would not worry to much about pH, once you start messing with pH it is like a chain reaction. Best bet will just be to try and keep the pH as stable as possible... Only thing IME that discus really dont like is very hard water (TDS of 200+). So depending where in the country you are your tap water can be suitable. Oh and you can get the pH nice and stable by just aerating (and heating to tank temp) the water that you are going to use for a water change for 2 or so days prior to use in a suitable container, i like to use a powerfull powerhead with venturi, this also helps to get rid of chlorine in the water.
