    @dtsf15,
    Plaster of paris = gypsum = Calcium DI-hydrate sulfate (CaSO₄.2H₂O), solubility in water ≈255mg in 100g water.
    Epsom salt = Magnesium hepta-hydrate sulfate (MgSO₄.7H₂O), solubility in water ≈75.2g in 100g water.
    By making a saturated solution of Epsom salt you will get concentration of 260mg/ml of salt, or 113mg Mg/ml
    Per 100Liter of tank water you should add ≈ 1.8ml (use a syringe to measure) to get 2ppm (2mg/L) final concentration.

    quick question. can we make a concentrated version just by multiplying the weights?

    so, if i add 10 x the gram/ml of each ingredients in the 500ml, I could dose only 10ml? instead of 100ml? is this correct?

    Why would you want to do that tho? With a larger volume you can distribute it evenly around the surface of the tank. With a concentrated version you replying purely on the flow inside your tank...plus I just think the ferts dissolves so much easier in a large body of water

    I'm lazy. I mix enough for about 2 months. It's also easier to measure out 5g than it is to measure out 500mg.

    i want to make those "auto" (actually manual) dosing rigs with the syringes. so will be easier to dose in smaller volumes, ie. 10ml, etc.

    I have quiet good flow in the tank, and planning to put the inlets at the wavemaker.

    What about inline? If one can have a heater and reactor inline...I'm sure one can dose ferts inline as well :p

    @jakkalsbothma. think he can do that with his fully automatic tank. If he didn't do it already

    Well now that you mentioned it... Plans are in the pipeline... Myself and the Engineer (@Ivan) were discussing it a week or two ago, we both just waiting to get our exams out the way and then we'll throw some grey matter at the issue...

    Could one dose 500ml Macros over 3 days during the week as opposed to 500ml over 5 days?

    Thanks

    yesy you can, you can pretty much dose however you want, as long as there are ferts going in the water, and regualr water changes you will be fine..
