He said he's willing to pay for it - give him the lot you dump and he can pay for Postnet if you want to get rid of it. Duckweed travels well - I got some in my plant shipment from Ferdie but I've already chucked most of it out lol

Guys duckweed is evil .... I try my best to kill it at every turn. If you do get it via a shipment then destroy it ASAP or you will live to forever regret getting it and I will forever regret passing it on.

    Eish some people ;-)

Hahahaha I had no problem rinsing it all off. Then having to use my fish net to scoop out the rest that never got rinsed off. I have like two pieces floating on my 70cm and the cube is duckweed free :p

Yeah - so hear is the issue with tanks and duckweed, Clare believe it or not, the plants I send was actually rinsed, but clearly pulling and packing plants with little sleep meant I did a bad job. If you have two leave in the tank remove them ASAP - and chuck them all on the compost heap.

The logic - about adding duckweed to a tank for food and or to soak up extra fertz only goes so far - when left unchecked ( and I mean regularly it grows into a tick matt that cuts out most light in your tank and even if you do have something in the tank the eats it, it is a good store for phosphate if memory serves but once eaten it is back in the water column. Truth be told once duckweed takes hold in your tank and you leave it, your tank will crash - well that is what I have seen, then you go down the road of loads of algae etc ... it is evil. Remove and kill kill kill.

Even in a tank where they eat duckweed like a snack - convicts as an example ... it super fouls the water and algae is king.

    Avoid avoid avoid.

Yeah I hear you on both duckweed and the lack of sleep - no need to feel bad about that. Before you even told me to go and take it out, I actually was fishing the two pieces out and squashed them.

Yeah my power filter does the other half of the job - just had to clean it out and put new filter batting in. Rinse and repeat the process til nothing left of it.

Duckweed stick like crap to a wool blancket in a tank. Just when you think you have everything it comes back.

Duckweed is pretty useful when used in breeding tanks or in ponds. It provides shade in ponds (helping to prevent algae) and reduces the need for frequent water changes in breeding tanks. It also provides a secondary food source for the fry (in the form of infusoria, although I'd rather rely on moss as secondary food source).

I also wish I never added the pest to my tank. I regularly catch it with net and chuck it in my koipond..funny enough it has never grown in my koipond
