@shihr Can one choose larger or smaller stones, or would it be a mix of different sizes? And is all dragon rock the same, or would this be a specific type (I am thinking about colour, origins (ADA?), effect on water parameters, etc.)? Any information (and pics) appreciated. Thanks!

It is a really good mix of size and colours, but it all changes after you spent an afternoon with the power washer cleaning the rocks, then they just look amazing!

Thanks @jakkalsbothma. How large (just approximately - perhaps length?) are the largest rocks, and how many of them does one get in a 20kg batch? (I am sure the smaller sizes will be fine.) Apologies for all the questions.

And also: would all dragon rock one buys in South Africa be the same? (Insofar as where it is sourced from, composition, whether it might have an effect on the water?) Many stores have a few lying around (though not 20kg) - do all of these come from the same place or should one be more careful where one buys?

If i can recall the biggest one was about 35cm long, 15cm wide. +- 4 big rocks in the bag a day the rest was medium, the nice thing about getting an entire bag was the options it gave me. A piece of Dragon Rock looks completely different after you washed and cleaned it with the high pressure washer. So we had lots of options and possibilities...

And if you don't like the big piece, you can always moer it smaller with a hammer... I like violence some times, gives me options too...

We seem to be the only people wondering about this ... None of the stores I have been too in the past few weeks could tell me where they get the dragon rock (although they said it was definitely not from ADA, even where the store stocked other ADA stones). Searching for information worldwide does not help much if what we get here is not the same thing.

Hi Luis. I do not expect them to tell me the name of the supplier, but some information (anything really!) about the product being sold would be welcome (which may or may not include geographical origin). My sense was not that they want to hide anything, just that they really do not know. I will probably spend quite a bit (for me at least) on rocks in the next few weeks, so I am looking for some reassurance should I decide to buy dragon rock.
