ya, i hate the fact that they dont put what is in the bottle.. sometimes i think that its because the fornulae is too simple so they scared ppl wil make their own!:p haha.. but ya, the tetra bottles look so fancy so it looks like it'll work well.. i bought the darro fert..will let u guys kno bout it!:)

Beware of cheap products, most guys here will tell you that Tetra is to inaccurate, and Daro even more. Well, I keep by the healthy tank idea... If my fish look good and their colors look great, then my tank is okay lol. Will invest in some test kits when I get my Marine tank in 2020 hehe
    [/quote]

ok i guess the best but saddest test is in ur fish!:( shit..2020?? is that a huge tank or somethin? or is marine really that exp??[

WHAT?? 4-5hrs?? thats so far man.. and also near the border? hectic man..shit.. so u hav to drive that far every time u go to the airport?any good fish stores there?

Yeah well, its not the saddest test, as you can see when something goes wrong before it goes wrong. You learn the fish AND plant behaviour! 2020... well, maybe by 2015 I'll have a house, so before then I cant get new tanks. That's the thing bout engineering, finishing degree in 2009 (hopefully) and then I have to work 3 yrs for my bursar, and they like sending people round in SA and Africa for 2 - 8 weeks at a time, sometimes longer, so ya, after that, I'll try to set up a marine.
For the Marine price... in VAHC magazine I read about a guy that set up his tank for about $200 or something. really neat looking tank, but the fish are rather expensive!

You start learning about fish and wat works an what doesnt from day one. When I started out it was just a thing of get a tank put some plastic pants in, leave the water for one week then add fish! Books? Back in thouse days the closest thing to a fish related book was Scope with a photo shoot on the beatch! HA HA HA!! Gess i was ignorant and didnt care or something... Came a long way since then! Me personaly... Dont know if I like marine?? Give me a 300L planted tank with metal halide lighting, fully automated CO2, 100L sump and a crozet controler to run every thing and Ill be the happiest person you know!

Hey richard, have you been to the petshops yet? Because i want you to buy something for me, currently it only on sale in the US, but maybe taiwan has stock. The thing is tiny, it is called "Fission Nano-Protein Skimmer", i think i wont cost more then R300. If you find it please buy it for me and ill pay u back when you back, oh i suppose u buy one for yourself too because we both going to need one when we start building our own nano marine tank. Cool thanks, see you when you come back and Merry Christmas.

Its like an extra filtering system, but only needed in marine tanks. Its filters out slime and very micro waste that the tank produces.

I heard that the entire system can not be over 100litres then it is considered a nano.

Well that was a bit faster than I thought... A nano tank is a tank smaller than 20 gallons or 76L.

Here is a link to where I found that info and it also got a pic of a skimmer.
