So to those who have asked to be notified when I will be selling off some of my South African bred quality discus, here goes.

These guys are now 3months old and a whopping 8cm in length. These fishes are on a diet of Dirk's Benkers mix, Ruto discus mix, brineshrimp, flake and pellets. They are eager eaters and not fussy at all. They were left with their parents until just over 3 weeks old so not artificially raised. The parents are a male leopard and a female snakeskin and can be viewed currently with their next batch of young.

I have a total of 14 fish available ( mainly leopards, but there will be 1 or 2 snakeskins available ) for the price of R 295-00 per fish.

I am not prepared to ship, so its on a collection basis only. I will give preference to buyers who are experienced with discus and are willing to look after these fish. If you are new to discus or keen to start up, then you will need to take a minimum of 6 fish and your tank must be correctly set up for these guys.

Sorry for sounding pedantic, but I know what effort ive put into these guys ( they are not a quick import and get rid of petshop type sale ).

Ok, the price of the remaining fishes for sale is now up to R 395-00 per fish ( advertised elswhere ) with a 10% discount to forum members. Reason for the price step up is ive had to feed, maintain etc these fish since first advertised and they have grown a good 2-3cm in total.

This is still way below the R 539/fish i saw at a LFS over last weekend for stunted unhealthy discus.

Will post some fresh photos in the morning.

I hear you. Even the guys from slaapstadt feel somerset is too far for a free viewing.

Go figure, with all the complaints about kak LFS fish, peeps aren't prepared to support local breeders. Doesn't add up for me.

You know I would buy some if I had a suitable setup. I will not make a mistake and try and keep them in my 135l or 300l.

50L per fish. So 300 - 400L would be ideal. This is the norm. Just remember these guys do get pretty big.
