    Hi Andre

Proportionately, everything is correct, just that Snake Skins are slow growers in general and it can get a bit deceiving sometimes with regards to size and age, but I would be as pleased as pie if they did.

True, sometimes if the fish are inbred for a while then they spawn at smaller sizes too.

It would be interesting to see what fry they throw

    Hi Andre

You are so right, but a big necessity for all these different type of strains, some more than others. With this strain spotted wilds where used (the Great-Grandmother was wild) so the throw back on these should be RSG’s (Red Spotted Greens) which is also cool.

However I don’t think I will encourage them to spawn as yet but rather get them a bit bigger first

You can age a fish by counting the rings on the otolith, almost the same as you would age a tree. But this ofcourse means disecting the fish, Peter I'm sure you don't want to do that but if one does happen to pass on to greener pastures you could try it.

Lol... I know, but I would most likely take it to a taxidermist instead. 8)

    Hi

Had my first spawn today..... rather happy about this, but I don't think the eggs will last long and will be eaten as first timers some times do. What paired up was a scarlet spotted and a red white spotted

I'll post some picks when i get a chance

Congrats Peter. I didn't realize that they were going to spawn so soon. I thought you had a few more months to go. Well done.

I'm sure once those parents get into the swing of things they next generation is going to look good.

    Wahoo!

Lol.....I’m just a dumb founded, I saw them courting in the grow out tank and didn’t pay to much attention to it. Couple days later I could see they were serious about the matter and put them into the breeding section, I was hoping to keep the strains the same but nevertheless happy,

    sooooo let’s see what happens
