    Hi guys
I would like to know what would be the best conductivity to keep my Discus in.Our tap water is normaly between 500 and 600 microsiemens, and very hard.I use RO water, but what will be the best mixture. And is there a lab in SA where you can test your water to see what it consist of?
    Regards
    Herve

The water in Linton Grange, PE is around 350 µS with a GH of 4.0 dH.
It looks as if you need to dilute your tapwater 1:1 with RO water (rain?).

Don't know about a lab around here.

    Hi Herve and Cor

Seems there is quite a difference in and around the PE area. Last year I was at a house in Sunridge Park from where a local Hanna agent operates and while I was there he demonstrated some of the equipment and his tap water measured 180 µS. I bought a pH meter from him and he said I should keep the probe in the 4pH solution because its conductivity is actually higher than the tap water...

Just brought my Hanna in for a service. Can't calibrate the conductivity. I test my RO and tap water evry month, although this is the first time I'm keeping a record of it. I want to establish a relationship between GH and µS (if there is one!)

BTW: 180 µS is pretty low. I never had it below 300 µS
