Yes, thanks you for posting.
just called the one in Wynberg Gas & Gear.. They dont refill
Not all Afrox accredited outlets do CO2 refills. In fact I would not be surprised if none on that list do\n't.
Had my cylinder filled there today. Very professional and friendly customer service.
how fast was this? or was it a drop and pick up later story?
very keen to try this place out
The below mentioned ones only stock and refill if you bought their canisters and they only sell the 17kg canisters lol damn thats a lot of CO2

I was in a bit of a hurry, so dropped off just before 2pm and picked up again at around 3pm I think. He said they'll only start filling at 2pm. Not sure if thats a daily basis schedule.
must check them out.. is there any differance in beverage grade CO2 and normal CO2 fire extinguishers
For anyone who also has an "Inta Safety" fire extinguisher (builders sells them.)
I get mine refilled from inta directly. They come and collect the unit and drop it back off. Its a bit more pricey (R165 ex vat for a 2kg refill) but if you are lazy like me and/or time limited it is a pretty good service in my books.
I do have 2 fire extinguishers though, as sometimes they can take a few days to drop it back off.
East Rand Fire is R57 for a 2kg.
i filled my 4.5kg for R63 and took all of 10 minutes here in elandsfontein.
At what place?
This is in reply to a PM one of our members just sent me.
Paintball cylinder valves have the same thread size as the US Type: CGA-320 standard (however, with pin valve). All PB cylinders are imported from the US and require either a PB pin valve to CGA-320 adapter (US regulators only) which basically just depress the pin-valve as standard CGA-320 nut & nipple assembly does not; or an adapter specifically CNC'd for paintball application that replaces the nut & nipple on regulator; or alternatively (for US regulators) you can have a tap valve fitted to PB cylinder which will allow you to use any stock US reg without the need for an adapter. You also then don't have the issue of CO2 gas escaping as you screw on paintball cylinder. With an adapter it starts depressing the pin long before you got it fully screwed on.
Tap Valve on left, standard pin valve on right.
Here in SA we use the EU Type: DIN 477 No.6 or UK Type: BS341 Pt1 No8 (0.86in x14TPI). As mentioned you do get Paintball and Sodastream adapters that completely replace the nut & nipple and screws directly into reg. These you can get at a selected few kegging outlets in SA for under R190 shipped.
You can get a 2kg CO2 cylinder with trigger valve for around R260 excluding delivery\collection fee. The replacement of trigger valve is where some places get a little ridiculous and charge almost the same price as cylinder, but generally should not be more than R150 fitted.
With tap valve fitted, it is perfectly safe (granted you follow safety standards). Forcibly keeping trigger valves open 24\7, however ain't. Somewhere on the interwebs there is a pic of a trigger valve stuck in a guys' ceiling. Now imagine that the cylinder was under his tank.
"Trigger valves are not made to be forcibly kept open 24\7. They are called "trigger valves" for a reason."
Sure, you just need to decide on whether you want to go PB or full size.
Thanx for the info it helps a lot
Do you know where I could get the 2kg CO2 cylinder with trigger valve and where I can replace the trigger valve?
The cheapest one I could get was a C02 fire extinguisher for R425.
I have searched the inter web and couldn't find anything?
That's my quoted price from SafeQuip. You can give em a call or try your luck at a re-conditioned cylinder from Nova Marine if you in the area and not too fussy about used equipment. Maybe you strike a luck with cylinder in good condition. They will also fit tap valve (or gate valve as their techie calls it) for you. Also ask Siyakhula, they in your area. I forgot to ask last I refilled there.

Do you know where we can get these?
thanx a million R.C
All explained in post above. In that post I was referring to the standard US reg's.
If you want to replace the nipple & nut on our or US standard (stock) reg's, you can get a PB replacement CNC'd or buy from kegging outlet.
Hey R.C...gave SafeQuip a call. There bottles are very cheap. I'm going to get 1 on monday might even take 2 Now all I need is the tap valve and then the guages.....
Any tips on where to buy these?
