I'm using the Sera brand. My dwarf ancistrus seems to love it!
Pet World (N1 City) has some and Fish Etc. (Stellenbosch) has Sera stuffs too.

Hankka, which bottom feeder tabs are you talking about as Serra produce at least four or more varieties ? Never heard of 'dwarf' ancistrus, interesting...are they new to the trade ?

Shaheed, those veil ancistrus were bought up primarily on baby marrows as shown, together with a mixture of pleco tabs including the Serra's catfish tabs, mainly the willow and alder wood ones, Dirk's spirulina veg tabs and then a variety or Dajana powders and veggie flakes that I get from Nick out at Hartlands.. Variety is the spice of life!

I have the Sera Catfish Chips.

Regarding the dwarf ancistrus... I dunno. That was the name they were sold under. The biggest one is about 8 cm or so.

I'm sure they are not true dwarf ancistrus, just a question of semantics and clever marketing unless they are ancistrus claro, which are smaller, but I have never seen these here yet. As yours is already 8cm and claro only grow to about 6cm I very much doubt it. As ancistrus are much smaller than the normal pleco, folks sometimes call them dwarf plecos and then this name presumably slips to dwarf ancistrus :BangHead:

A pic will tell the true story?

I am interested what everybody's experience are that have used the Ocean Nutrition Wafers. Do your bottom feeders react positively to it or do they prefer something else?

My fish love it! In fact my tetras are often seen trying to steal it from my sterba's and pandas.

My Otto's seem to really enjoy it while still solid, but once it starts breaking up they lose interest as with all other wafers

    Thanks

I bought tabs in a clear zip loc bag at Pet adventure at KC. There was no label or brand markings but the bottom feeders loved it. Did you guys see something similar at your LFS it was half the price of cheapest bran name stuff.

yip those are probably mine, I actually gave them a specially made laminated shop label and pic, so Lord knows where they got the word 'dwarf' from.... crazy bunch !

Males usually grow to about 120 to 150mm max but depending on the size of the tank and diet.

I better not show you dad's face ;D

Yeah... that sign was nowhere to be found.
Not the first time this has happened. :ang4:

At 12 - 14 cm... they'll be a little on the big side for my tank. That sucks!

I love Ocean Nutritions products as in the Algae Wafers and Tropical Wafers, which my Rainbows chowed before the Cories could get to them. Mark, at Pet Stop, got some New Era products in and after seeing it, and getting my Panaque decided to use it. The Plec Pellets are nice firm big pellets and they stay that way for at least a day. The Catfish Pellets are smaller and the Cories love them. If you can find this, use it, your fishes will love you for this. My Panaque defends here pellets with her live when I put it in the tank. :laughing7:

Yours might end up smaller so only cross that bridge when you reach it and they should provide you with a couple of years of good algae cleaning work before that..
